Because Isshiki was hyped up so much that I thought he would’ve been stronger. Like it would’ve been a good twist if Soma lost and Isshiki manages to secure the final win.

The writer should have invited Gordon Ramsay for cooking consultant with this theme as a momentary antagonist-supporting character. Its the Blue therefore dishes needs to be world class, not the noir's nonsense cooking abilities. It also works with the story to the quest of making a dish of truly satisfying Mana's god tongue palate. Asahi ability 'cross knives' doesn't make sense but more like a master doppelganger at best, also the dishes he created in my opinion reality shouldn't be enough to surpass a near perfect palate like Mana. Gordon Ramsay has more experience and real true talent to really create a dish 'unique' to surpass Mana's 'god-tongue' and even Erina. Soma could learn more from Ramsay to be able to truly surpass his dad, Shinomiya, Tsukasa and even Erina. Ramsay could end up from temporary antagonist turn to a supporting character mentor.

I still think Isshiki did not go all out. The writers had to make Soma fight against Tsukasa, and to do this, they had to make Isshiki lose to Tsukasa. It's so annoying ngl. Isshiki winning against Tsukasa would be more epic and believable, as compared to Soma suddenly having a chef spurt, and then defeating around 4 members of the Ten.
